He's Here!

Our little Enoch Reid Murphy is finally here! He was born on October 27, 2011 at 12:14 PM; just in time for lunch! He weighed in at 7 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches tall! Labor went really well and I am healing very quickly! I even had enough energy to go to the kids costume parade at school yesterday. People were saying I was crazy but I feel good! Enoch is such a good baby and last night we got ourselves a nice rhythm going where we worked like clockwork and got him fed and back to sleep without issue. Alice and Peter just LOVE their new little brother and want to hold him and love him as much as they possibly can and Jacob is just Super excited to be a new daddy. He's never experienced this part before and it's been fun to watch him learn. Our little family is amazing!

Happy Fall!

We have been having a wonderful time up here in Garland!

We got the kids school pictures back and they look awesome! Such cute kids! Aren't we glad we know them?!

There is a long standing tradition for my Grandma Wilding to go fishing on the last day before Jackson Lake closes. This also happens to be close to her birthday on October 1st. This year it fell on September 30th. Dad and Mom took Alice and Peter fishing! They caught 14 fish and had a wonderful time!

On Sunday just before sacrament meeting the counselor in the bishopbric told me I was going to be released from cub scouts. I should have told him they can't do that to a pregnant lady right before it happens! I had a hard time keeping myself composed throughout sacrament meeting. One of my big worries was my Woodbadge training! How was I going to earn my beads without a scout calling?! But after consulting with my fellow scouters (Dad and my brother) we decided I can still do it with my current goals. I got it approved by my patrol leader and will still be plugging away!

At my last doctor appointment on Tuesday the 11th, my doctor checked me out and I was dialated to a 1 and 50% effaced. He said he was going to be out of town this week and to try hard not to go into labor. However if I did, they wouldn't stop me. Jacob talked to his superiors and they said if at all possible they don't want him to take emergency leave. So I've been asked by quite a few people to NOT go into labor and to take it easy. When my boss did the schedule last week he kept me off and I just go in when I'm needed. Being a bump on a log (couch) is really hard for me. I get super stir crazy with nothing to do. On Sunday my feet got really swollen from church so if I sit all day I get crazy swollen feet. If I walk, I could go into labor. I just need to up and down through the day but not too much. It's a very hard ratio and it gets REALLY boring. One thing I do is crochet. I decided since baby is coming next week and the weather is starting to turn cold, he'd need some hats. So I have crocheted a few fun hats for him. One idea I got was a candy corn hat. Peter thought it was super cool so I did one for him too. Then my brother liked the idea so he got one as well. Dad is going to Woodbadge this weekend and next weekend and said he'd wear one when he sleeps outside. Jacob will get his next week when he gets here. I think they're fun and it was really fun to see Dad, Peter, and Jacob all working outside last night in their matchy candy corn hats!

Well that's it from this home front for now! In Kansas Jacob is doing good. He's getting so excited for the baby to come he hardly knows what to do with himself. He's constantly worried about me taking care of myself as well. Such a sweetheart. He is SO grateful to everyone around me for helping me to take care of myself and the kids and making sure I don't overdo it. He will be flying in on October 27th and we will go in to be induced on October 28th. I don't know the time yet. My next doctor appointment is going to be Monday the 24th.

Another piece of important information is this: FLU SHOTS!!! If you want to hold baby in the first few weeks (exact amount of time to be determined later) you NEED to have a flu shot. Normally I don't care about them but 'tis the season and baby is coming right in the middle of it. Anything we can do to prevent the little guy from getting sick, we will. Alice and Peter got theirs and were AWESOME!! Great examples for everyone!

Enjoy your fall and hopefully we will have a baby soon to share!!

Fashion!

Well not a whole lot of new things have been happening here. The other day on our way down to the bus stop, Alice turned to me and said, "Mommy, you're wearing brown and gray" like I was committing some sort of fashion faux pas! I guess looking at how stylish she is nowdays she would know style.
I told her, "Alice, I wear what fits me" that seemed to make the brown and gray combination ok lol.
Peter is just as awesome as ever too. He doesn't like to sit still so he isn't a big fan of school. After school he loves though! Running around and just being all sorts of a boy!

Both kids can't wait for baby brother to come in a couple of weeks. (I say couple because it sounds shorter but really we have about 4 weeks now) I had to switch doctors because my doctor moved to Virginia. But I'm all ok with it because my new doctor has already set a date for me to be induced! This way Jacob will be able to be here for the baby coming. I told him I'd be pretty upset if he wasn't. So the big day for us will be October 28th! I can't wait. I feel so gigantic! I'm also getting more and more cranky as this pregnancy progresses. I think everyone will be happier once baby is here.

Not a whole lot of new things have been happening with Jacob either. He's just kinda living the army life and hating it. He's super excited to get done with it and moving out here to be with us! We're anxious for that too.

One other bit of news. Alice and Peter's dad moved to Alabama this week to be with his fiancee. This means that Alice and Peter will be up here pretty much all of the time now and will go spend the majority of the summer with their dad. They miss him already but they are very tough kids and will be just fine I'm sure. Especially when they start to realize they will be going to more birthday parties, primary activities, and family parties. The amount of summer time they have with me will be determined on what the summer plans turn out to be. So if you want Alice and Peter to be at your event, let me know lol.

Well hope everything is going great with everyone! I'm super excited to watch confrence this weekend! Oh and mom is giving me a baby shower on October 8th. It's going to be an open house (because I really don't like baby shower games) at our house from 1-5. Feel free to come and don't feel bad if you didn't get an invitation; I forget a lot.

SO Much Going On!

Wow there has been a lot since I last posted! Let's see if I can remember it all.

I guess the biggest thing that happened is my Grandpa Wilding passed away on August 23rd. He'd been battling cancer for many years and on August 6th found out that melanoma had coated his lungs and heart. They gave him 3-6 weeks. He was truely a great man and will be missed very much! I'm doing pretty ok with it. It was a really huge blessing to have Jacob come a few days afterwords so I could have some time to grieve. I'm sure there's more in there but it will come when I least expect it to. Anyways, how exciting for Grandpa though! Look at all the neat people he will or already has gotten to meet!

In other news, Alice and Peter started school on the 29th. Alice LOVES it and said, "This is going to be the BEST year EVER!!" Peter isn't so thrilled. What I think it is is he has a hard time actually sitting down and learning. He wants to be up and moving around. He's also disappointed in the new playground, "It's smaller than the other one! Even though it has 3 slides." Don't you love what's important to kids?

On the Sunday before school started we had a very special family home evening where Jacob was able to give us back to school preisthood blessings. I am SO grateful to have a worthy priesthood holder as a husband who can give us blessings whenever we need them. I just hope I can stay worthy enough to keep him!

My glucose test did come back positive so I have gestational diabeties. It's been an adjustment that's for sure! Breakfast is the hardest time for me because I only get 30 grams of carbohydrates. Go ahead and take a look at your favorite cereal. That plus the milk for ONE serving is already more than I can have. I've been eating a lot of eggs and ham & cheese in a taco shell for breakfast. I have a feeling that's going to get old. Other than that it hasn't been too hard to adjust.

Well that's about all for the Murphys this time!

Sugar, School, & Field Days!

So on August 10th I had a routine doctor's appointment where they did the regular glucose test. On the 12th I got a call saying my numbers were high and I needed to go in to do a 3 hour glucose test. That was NOT fun. So on the 15th I spent 4 hours at the hospital while they drew my blood every hour. I'm SO glad my brother agreed to come with me and keep me entertained! We played 3 games of cribbage and I finally won the third game. My brother took this picture of me because he thought it looked like I was in high chair. He thought it was SOOO funny. I haven't heard the "official" results of my test but the first 2 blood draws had high sugar numbers and that's not good. I'm expecting a call from my doctor any day now.

Last night (the 15th) was back to school night. Alice and Peter are super lucky to be able to go to a brand new school! We got to meet their teachers and see the new school. It was pretty fun. They mentioned in the paper last week or the week before that the kids in the school drew pictures for these tiles in the new school. Alice found hers first and was SO excited! Peter looked around and saw this one and said excitedly, "There's mine!!!" I asked, "Oh yeah?" Peter says, "I think it is. . . . yeah it's mine." So funny! But super exciting to have these be a permanant part of the brand new school! The first day of school is going to be August 29th and the kids are REALLY excited for it!

So Jacob is in the "field" doing training for like 2 weeks. He hates it lol. The first week was awful and this second week is going better but still a little bit frusterating for him. I saw this shirt today and thought it totally fit what he's going through right now. He will be busy doing his own little business or even be all done for the day and people will call him needing things and he's apparently the only one who can fix this stuff. He's so great to be able to take care of so many things! The army is definately going to miss him when he leaves in February! I'm pretty excited because he will be coming to visit next week on the 26th.

Well that's the best of what's going on in our lives for now!

Summer Fun!

We've had a great summer so far! Peter and Alice are taking swimming lessons from my brother's girlfriend, Karleigh. Of course, they needed new swimming suits!

Also, Peter had a birthday last week. Our sweet boy turned 7 on the 27th. He had a great party and yummy cake! Here's he and Alice looking at a new present from Grandpa and Grandma Wilding. An "I Spy A Nephite" book. Peter loves those kind of things and he's WAY good at them too!

Thanks to those who called Peter. He really enjoyed getting phone calls just for him.

A Fantastic Week!!

So I know it's been a little while since I last wrote something but don't worry it was all for a good cause. Jacob came home on July 1st and we were able to spend 12 days of fun together! I took him to the airport yesterday to go back to Kansas. It was super sad but totally worth it!! We actually figured out that he might only be able to come home 1 more time before baby comes. Anyways, for the week of July 4th we went CAMPING!! I did Wood Badge training, Alice & Peter had their own little fun family camps and Jacob SUPERVISED. He did a great job. I'm SO grateful for my little family for coming along and making sacrifices for me to be able to get this great training done. Now to work on my ticket and get those beads! Here's a few pictures from the past week.

The super awesome FOX PATROL!!! I met some of the neatest people there! It's amazing how perfectly put together our group was! We have: David, Fred, Liz, Kathleen, Morgan, and Charles!

Snazzy Alice got her Tote-N-Chip!

Peter waiting for mom.

Liz coming back from class.

Ice cream at lunch!

We had a fabulous time! Can't wait for our next wonderful adventure!

Kansas Weather!

Jacob sent me this picture yesterday showing me the hail he got in Kansas! He said there was a tornado warning. I told him there has been a ton of tornado warnings since he's been there but no tornados. I think the warnings are fake lol.

The Circus!!

So yesterday was SO much fun!! We went to the "Carson & Barnes" circus that came right here to little Tremonton! I've never been to the circus before so I was totally stoked! They had everything there! Flying trapeeze, tightrope walking, trained dogs, jugglers, contorcionest (not sure if that's how you spell it), a balancing act, and a guy who did an act with those ribbons that come from the ceiling (I forget what that's called). They even had animal rides! As you can see from the picture I let Alice and Peter ride an elephant. I decided it was a once in a lifetime chance. I totally would have done it if I wasn't all pregnant. Hopefully they will come again next year so I can have a chance. The kids loved the circus though. They both say the trapeeze artists were their favorites. Peter said he could do everything the contorcionest did. I think that would be interesting to watch lol.

Back in the (Spray Paint) Saddle!!

Well tonight my brother and I got back into the spray paint saddle! I'm very excited about my picture I did especially since it's been so long (it started getting way too cold in November). My brother says he thinks it's the best one I've done. I'm not sure about that but I really like it and I'm excited to see what else I can do! And no worries, I asked my doctor about spray painting and he said as long as I wear a mask and stay in a well ventilated area, it's ok. YAY!

Here We Are!

Welcome to our blog! I know because you are looking at this you probably already know all about us. So I won't introduce ourselves. Basically we are just living life and having a blast! Alice and Peter are super excited that it's summer! They are only going to be with me for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays so I'm really hoping I get to be home with them on those few days. Jacob is still in Fort Riley Kansas and REALLY not having a blast lol. He's a squad leader and I'm super excited for that. He however, isn't so much because the people he's in charge of make him feel like he's babysitting not leading. But that's ok because I know he's awesome! As for me, I'm working still at Ace Hardware. I'm super happy they have let me go part time because with this pregnancy I get SO tired! But I know this particular tiredness won't last forever. So there we go! That's what's new with the Murphy Faction!
