Updates

So I created a Black Friday e-mail for my work and I got the kids to model some cute animal hats for me. They had a blast. Alice said, "I've always wanted to be a model!" I got a lot of great comments about them too :)
Today we went to the Spiral Jetty. None of us had ever been there before but I think we chose a really great day to do it. It was SO pretty!
And P.S. Jake was never in Mexico lol.

Scary Things

So we walk the kids down to the bus stop every day and love to take Enoch with us. He enjoys the walk but we have discovered a few things he is really afraid of. One is when we throw big rocks into the canal down there. He is not a big fan if the big splash. Even though he does it in the tub all the time lol. The other thing that scares him is the school bus and the fact that Alice and Peter run towards it. On the first day he reached out his hand screaming as they ran off. As if to say "DON'T GET ON THE BUS!!" Jake and I had to console him. He's really excited to see them get off in the afternoons. So every day the bus stop is an adventure.

Yay Mobile!

I just got the Blogger app for my phone! Super cool!

There has been a lot going on with the Murphy Faction since I last posted.

Peter got baptized on August 8th. He was so excited! Jake did the baptizing and he did a super awesome job!

In the end of July we took a trip down south to Georgia and Alabama to pick up Alice and Peter from their dads. Enoch was not too bad for the drive down but he had a hard enough time that he and I flew back. He was a good baby on the plane and slept most of the time. We stayed and played with Warren and Micah and really had a blasty blast! Thanks a million you guys! I meant to send a card but didn't ever sit down and do it. But hey it's the thought that counts, right?

A couple of weeks ago I noticed Enoch had his first little baby tooth come in! We are now dealing with cranky Enoch as he gets in another one. That's no fun but I'm happy for the baby food stage to be over.

Last week was the Box Elder county fair. We all entered stuff in and all got at least one blue ribbon. Which was really fun. The best part I think was Peter got a "big blue" (sweepstakes) ribbon for a petunia he entered. He has always wanted a big blue ribbon and was so excited he almost cried when he saw it. It was really fun. I'm already working on something for next year.

Well that's about it for us. School started for Jake today and for Alice and Peter tomorrow. Lots of fun going on!

Figured it out!

I figured out why I have such a hard time blogging! It's all about the pictures. I somehow just want to put pictures up but don't have the time to upload them so the blogging gets pushed to the side. Well not today! No pics just news lol. On May 24th my brother Jacob got married to Karleigh! I'm pretty excited for that. It was a fun day and we had SUPER good cake leftovers. The end of May we went down to LaVerkin to spend time with Jake's family. It was lots of fun! We got to play Wii Fit, went swimming and I learned a new card game. The day after we got back from Southern Utah Jake had to go up to Idaho for his 2 week national guard training. It has been SUPER hard because I don't get to hear from him very often. Then on June 7th Dad and Amber went to join Mom in Canada and then on the 9th Alice and Peter left for Alabama for 6 weeks. So this week little Enoch and I are here all by ourselves. It's not very fun to be alone. I know I have Enoch but let's face it; he's 7 months old. I'm practically babysitting a puppy. This little puppy by the way has learned how to crawl and pull himself up on things. He knows exactly what he wants to play with and most of the time it's not his toys. I blame Jake. He kept saying, "I can't wait for him to start crawling so he can somewhat entertain himself more" well now he does and it's hard work! I caught him getting into a plant today and had to discipline him. He was pretty shocked that he got into trouble. Here's a few of the reasons I hate being home alone: ~ No one to talk to which makes it really hard when I find something super funny. ~ Food; I don't want to fix a big meal because it's just me so I end up eating small things and I'm hungry most of the time. ~ I ALWAYS get that creepy crawly feeling when I turn off a light behind me at night. ~ I usually end up killing a few of Dad and Mom's plants. I don't do it on purpose but it's inevetable. ~ I end up watching the Final Stanley Cup game alone. It was a really good game too. The New Jersey Devils got completely CREAMED by the Los Angeles Kings. Final score was 1-6. Yeah pretty sick. The King's were making goals in clusters too; it was pretty funny. In the first period they got 3 within a 2-3 minute period and then in the last period they got 2 within a 1 minute period. It was pretty awesome but no one to share it with makes it hard. I know I had more last night but now I can't remember them. Well I will now end on a happy note. Even though the previous stuff sounded kinda down. I'm pretty excited about my future. Jake will be coming home, I'm going to clean the kids room and then we all get to switch rooms (Thank you Jacob for getting married and moving out), plus I've got a plan for exercizing and eating right that I'm hoping will really help my energy level. And all of this WILL be accomplished in 6 weeks. GO TEAM MURPHY!!

Saucers, Mars and the MOON!!

So we have had a super great time lately! The first weekend in April Alice and Peter had their Spring Break and we went down to Salt Lake and spent the whole day at the Gateway and the new City Creek. It was super fun! One of the funnest places we went to was the planetarium! They have these cool little "scenes" where you can take pictures like you are on the moon or Mars. It was crazy fun!
A month or so ago we got Enoch an "Exersaucer" it is his new favorite! He loves playing with the toys on there and has recently discovered the baby in the mirror lol. He did have a little bit of an issue at the beginning trying to figure out how some of the toys worked and he'd get pretty upset when they wouldn't do what he wanted them to do but he's ok now.

Updates all around!

You wouldn't think it was too hard to sit my hiney down at the computer and update a blog once in a while but apparently it is lol. Life has been going great at the Murphy household. Jacob came home for good on February 18th and we have been LOVING having him here! A few of the highlights in the past few months have been: (Presented in no particular order)

1. Pinewood Derby! - Peter, Jake, my brother Jacob, and my dad all made cars to race. Jake and Jacob did a combined effort. Peter did the best out of them all and got 12th place overall out of 21. GO PETER!! Jake & Jacob got 17th and Dad got 18th place. It was super fun! The primary president made a car to race as well and it was a really great time. Dad was a master as the Pit Chief.

2. Peter worked SUPER hard and earned his tiger patch!! Since the church doesn't really recognize the tiger group as part of their charter it was all done unofficially but he was awarded his patch at a sweet presentation during the Blue and Gold Banquet.

3. Jake was trying to be a super brother-in-law and help my sister, Amber, practice driving. She drove his truck to the gas station with him in the passengers seat. As she was turning into the pump, she panicked and hit the gas instead of the break and plowed right into the cement barrier by the gas pump. Poor Jake! His truck got a nice smash to the front corner. :( We found a place in town to work on it and they say it should be done next week sometime.

4. Alice hasn't really had anything big going on the past few months. She is growing up SO fast I can't believe it. She still enjoys Monster High and reading is her life. She loves being a big sister and got Enoch dressed today! She is such an awesome person.

5. Enoch is growing like a weed! He got his shots a few weeks ago and ended up getting a fever of 101 with them. Poor kid! He was NOT happy about it. He also had a slight ear infection. Giving a baby medicine sure is a tricky feat! Luckily Jake and I are able to tag team it!

6. Jake is loving being a Daddy! He and Enoch have great times together while I go to work in the mornings. He is also now a master at giving baby baths! Enoch just loves his Daddy!

7. Jake has been helping the kids with their homework too. He just has a way with them that I don't have. Peter's spelling has increased greatly since Jake's been home.

8. Yesterday Peter got hurt outside and came in crying. Enoch saw his brother crying and it hurt him to see that and Enoch started crying too! He is such a sweet boy!! Just like his big brother.

9. I have mostly been taking care of kids and husband and working. I'm enjoying it at Ace still and LOVE what I do there. I have the best bosses in the world! I also have begun a few fun crochet projects. I've discovered my favorite yarn to use is "Vanna's Choice" it's super soft yet it stays together and doesn't unravel very much.

10. Jake and I have started the Insanity workout. It's CRAZY hard!! I'd probably give up if it was just me. I'm sure hoping to get ripped in 60 days. We've done it for 4 days now and I'm wondering if my stomach has gotten bigger not smaller?? Jake says it's just my body adjusting and moving things around. I sure hope so! But if not at least at the end of it I will be more fit so I can work on other things. Right??

Well that's been about all from the Murphy clan lately. I'm so grateful to my family and especially my husband. He goes out and does all the hard work and the kids and I benefit from it. I am SO lucky to have him and SO spoiled to have him here for good now! Not sure what I did to deserve him but I'm sure glad I did whatever it was!

It's been WAY too long!

Well all, I'm sorry it has been SO long since I updated! You wouldn't think it would be too hard to just get on the computer and type out a few things but apparently for me it is.
We have had a lot of fun lately. Alice and Peter are getting along quite nicely and are really great older siblings to Enoch.

Peter has found a true calling in life and completely enjoyed himself while he took apart Alice's old shoes so he could have the lights that made it blink. He now is working on a plan for building a "contraption". He also is working on getting his Tiger cub patch. Yesterday my brother took him to the local newspaper office and got a tour. They had a great time!

Alice has had the awesome opportunity to serve lunch at the school. She really loved doing it and I went and had lunch with Peter one day so I could see her. What a darling! She also really loves being a big sister and helping with Enoch. It's so hard for me to let her do things like carry him across the room because in my eyes she's not that old yet! But I will soon have to admit she's growing up.

Enoch is quite the busy little baby! When he's not sleeping, eating, or spitting up, he is practicing things like wresteling bears, and sticking his fist into his mouth. He has also enjoyed watching a few movies. He talked it up during Smurfs and kind of enjoyed Cars 2 but got too hungry midway to finish it. Since the doctor doesn't want us to take Enoch out in large crowds until March we decided to bless him here at home. That took place on December 29th. It was a really great blessing. I'm so happy that Jacob is worthy to hold the priesthood and help us participate in these great events!

As for Jacob and me, well, we are just hanging in there trying to make everything work! Jacob will be done with the army mid February and we are pretty stoked about that! Afterwords he will move out here to be with us, go to school (thanks to the GI bill) and work on building our ACN business! We are very excited about all of our opportunities and can't wait to REALLY get started on our life!
